RICK’S POST (with Cindy’s captions in italics):

Back home on the South Fork American River (the view from our patio)

We had a few weeks back home where we took care of some business and medical appointments.  We managed to get our catarafts out on the river one time. We had to pull them out of storage so it was a lot of work for one trip down Chile Bar but it was worth it.  The weather and water were great and it allowed is to spend a little time with some of our local boater friends. We also were able to have some family time with my mom, my California brother & sisters.  We attended a family BBQ for my youngest  sister Elena’s birthday.

Then on October 1st, we flew up to Seattle for a graduation celebration for our sons, Dan and Andrew, both in the final semesters of completing their college/advanced degrees.  We had rented an Airbnb in Bremerton, Wa. right on the water in a beautiful bay in the Puget Sound.  It was a very special three day visit we had with our sons Dan and Andrew and our daughters Sarah and Andrea.  It is so rare we have all our kids together under one roof, and Andrea came all the way out from Texas to be a part of it.

The weather was perfect and we had plenty of  water toys for those that wanted to play on the water, between kayaks and SUP boards.  Andrew and Dan’s partners Angela and Leanne joined us along with Dan & Leanne’s eight-year old twins.  Sarah’s partner Justin was with us as well as Julia, birth mom to three of our kids.

Sarah brought her portable aerial rig. She and Justin set it up on the back lawn. Sarah did some of her routines for us and spent time instructing the twins on some beginning aerial moves and poses.  The girls did great and Sarah showed how well she is able to work with youngsters wanting to learn.

We had a family traditional tostada Friday night. Saturday we BBQ’d tri-tip and fresh oysters.   We wound things up on Sunday morning with a great quiche that Justin put together and we all went our separate ways.  Cindy and I took Andrea with us to the airport as she would be flying back home to Dallas area, while we would be catching a red eye to Boston.
