We were a bit reluctant to take Cool Change out without a starter motor, but Rick finally decided that the risk was worth it. Thank goodness! We sailed on January 28 for a day sail, moored in front of Ondine’s on the Sausalito waterfront for the night on January 29, and then sailed again on January 30. Again, it was lovely!
Here is our track from January 28. We just went out for a few hours, but it was great to be on the water again.
On the 29th, we worked all day, and then when we were finally ready to get out of our slip, we were grounded! The tide was exceptionally low and apparently, our slip wasn’t deep enough! So, we invited a dockmate over for late afternoon appetizers and a shot of Tequila with our docklines mostly released. When we began to float away, we knew it was time to go! We didn’t leave the dock until 5:45 p.m.. Fortunately, where we were going was less than a mile away. We made it over to the Sausalito waterfront, opposite Ondine’s restaurant, just before dark, made ourselves a lovely dinner and listened to the Ondine’s dinner music while we ate our own homemade version of an esquisite meal!
The next morning, we headed over to Ayala Cove in Angel Island for a while, enjoyed the sunshine and came back to Sausalito.
